"Using a vast array of global textiles and every material or found object imaginable, I build, layer and capture the essence of a 'Spirit Keeper'. My desire is to create an underlying feeling or emotion in each sculpture." -Shelley Rapp Evans
Shelley Evans loves to travel, and when she does she takes little pieces of the places she visits i.e. buttons or small fabrics and brings them back and puts them into her sculptures. A single sculpture contains many different country's small trinkits or fabrics. They seem to always look tribal but as her goal is to make them look like old relics from a museum the tribal look fits well. When I got to see them in person they were about as tall as my arm (maybe a little bigger) and did give different feels with their colors and structure.
Her sculptures can be bought for $2,000 or more.
